Our constitution was created to protect our civil rights as human beings and now the Appeals court rules California’s same sex marriage ban as unconstitutional. A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that a lower court judge correctly interpreted the U.S. Constitution and Supreme Court precedents when he declared in 2010 that Proposition 8 was a violation of the civil rights of gays and lesbians.
Same sex marriage is a sensitive topic for many and will continued to be appealed. But for now the courts have made it apart of all man and women’s civil rights. This matter will always be a religious issue among many but for today no one can state that it is against any civil or constitutional rights.
